Information on the May 2011 Election.

Our first election is coming up, and here's some information on it just so everyone understands how it works.

There are 2-5 nominees allowed in each election. Each nominee must have had a clean record for the past 2 months (unfair bans don't count). It is also recommended they be a current government official, although this is not required. A nominee must be part of a political party, and must present what they will do if elected.

On May 31st, a link to a surveymonkey poll will be posted on the forums. This is how you vote. The winner becomes President. The President has a term of one month, and can be elected for up to 3 months before being forced to step down. If the President is doing a terrible job, he/she is impeached. The President is also impeached if mass protests take place on the forum.

Once the President takes power, my (admin) powers will be reduced. I will only be allowed to moderate this forum as a moderator. The President will notify me of his/her decisions, and I will do my best to carry them out. (For example, making a new category, starting a website, censoring certain swear words, etc)

We aren't a communist party because all though we believe in fairness, equality and supporting the proletariat, we wont abololish class seperation by giving people equal wages. We don't want someone working in a fast food restaurant with very little education to be getting paid the same as someone who spent their whole life studying to be a doctor as just one example. The system is too flawed to hold together without humans being utterly selfless and so it would all fall apart after a certain period of time anyway.
We also believe in democracy, so people will still get a say in government affairs and people will still be able to vote for whoever they want... When in a communist country, people would only be able to vote for communist parties unless there was an uprising of some sort.
